I sowed some more Onion ‘Alisa Craig’ seeds for the 2nd time. The first batch I sowed was back in December 24th, easy to remember being ‘Boxing Day’! They germinated & were getting along fine in the greenhouse on the Allotment Gerry shares with me. One day in January, I don’t remember exactly when, I went down to the allotment & on entering the GH I noticed that all the germinated onion seedlings were lying on top of the compost in the seedtray! Something, probably a mouse, had got into the GH during the 3 days since my last visit & had pulled out all the seedling onions!
On February 20th I sowed some more seeds & took extra care to protect them. I hope in this coming week they germinate & I’ll be able to plant them out by the end of March.
