Yesterday we purchased 20 bales of straw from a dairy farmer out on Upper Ave near Hanna. Using those to outline a 35′ × 4′ bed on the east side of the backyard. 60 bucks total, 3 dollars a bale.
Today we picked up a truckload of horse manure aged, watered and turned with hay for the last year. Good stuff! $20 for a 4-scoop truckload. We’ll need two more truckloads, at least. Taking care of that on Monday-Tuesday.
Quote from Will: “The way to Mom’s heart is a truckload of manure” hahahahhaha
