Joy unconfined in this little household today. Good news, at last!
And I have literal blooms too. Not that many. But enough for now… and more to come.
Main Photo: The Usual Suspects
Photo 1: Snowdrops, against a background of infernal buttercups!
Photo 2: Primulas
Photo 3: Could use this heat mat but the felines have claimed it: 3 of them are taking turns on 8 hour shifts so I never get a chance to sneak on a seedling tray.
Photo 4: The second shift hard “at work”.

Ha ha! Have you tried the “opening the can” trick? Should get all of the cats in the kitchen at the same time!

Thanks everyone! I managed to take a snap of the second shift “at work” on the heat mat and have added it – just need to get the third one now… I thought I had overcome the problem of the heat mat being used by fur people by already buying a new double mat (thank goodness, no one has discovered that yet) but it does seem I need to buy even more!

I love the way your cats have monopolised the heat mats but it does make it difficult for you to use it for its intended purpose. :-\ They look so blissful ‘in situ’.
Our cat used to love sitting on top of the central heating/hot water boiler (furnace) and would spend hours there amidst all the coats hanging on the rail above.

I love the first photo. Those are crocus aren’t they? Another on the to grow list. :) I love the cats on the mats. :D

@tropicanaroses: yes, they are crocuses. Snow crocuses to be exact – the shorter ones – as our Pacific Northwest rains smash the taller ones to smithereens so these guys are a better bet in this climate. Once you buy a few, you’ll find they reproduce very quickly. I’m also helped by the squirrels redistributing them as I now have crocuses in places I never planted them!

You just reminded me that I better go out first thing in the morning to see if my crocuses have bloomed. Lovely blooms – I just love this time of year when things are just starting to bud up.
Looks like the cats are ready to “pot up” already – those heat mats really work wonders, don’t they?
