And now, Ladies and Gentleman, I bring you not to a castle in Elsinore, but to a dining room in North Vancouver.

Preparing my “greenhouse” for 2012. It’s been both fun and scary.

Over the last 6 years, I’ve gradually acquired stuff : 2 × 6′ long folding “picnic” tables, one grow light stand to cater for 2 seedling trays, and 2 heat mats. But I’ve outgrown my old set-up – I started to struggle/juggle in 2010 and 2011 (reinforced by our lack of “Summer”) rather tipped me over the edge.

So I have “oomphed” this year. I bought another (double) heat mat.

And a new light stand/system. Serious Bucks. But Serious Happiness.

Let the production start!

Photo 2: As organized as I will get with non-flower seeds. (Totally inspired by Deanna!)

What a fantastic set-up! You’ll have those raised beds filled up in no time!
Feels good to be organized, doesn’t it? You will have to post more pics when you are in full production mode!
Gorgeous dining room too, by the way!

Hey, Louise, I don’t know if you use them, but I saved a whole bunch of egg cartons that you are more than welcome to have. I was going to start seeds in them but with my lack of space/sunlight indoors I am going to try to direct seed practically everything this year. So if you would like my collection of 20 or so cardboard egg holders, lemme know. :)

@anelson, @deanna and @redloon: thank you for your nice compliments. I’m immensely happy with my new set-up…although worried already that I will run out of “staging” space!! Will need to cobble together some cold-frame type protection outside to cater for the overflow…
@bcgarden2010: how observant about the egg carton! I was saving it in case I grow potatoes again this year – so I could “chit” them. (Still undecided about it though.) Thanks for the thought all the same! (Was just reading something about red wriggler worms (the type you find in your compost bin) loving shredded egg carton cardboard so maybe that’s an alternative use for them?)
