Looking outside this morning, it’s hard to envisage that it will only be a few months until my resident aphid-farming ant population is in full production. I wrote last year of having tried everything (bar mega-toxins) to control it and wondering whether it would be both legal and possible to acquire an anteater…or two.
Having stumbled across this earlier though, I wouldn’t mind an aardvark either. And is it just me, or does the baby look like a real-life Clanger (probably only UK Folians – of a certain age – will know what on earth I’m yammering on about!:D)?

Definitely a baby clanger Louise – I can almost hear the chorus of piping whistles from the admiring (clanger) relatives! What a great way that would be to control ants – love one in my garden.

Glad someone got the “clanger” reference. I had quite forgotten the whistling noises though, seeingreen. Thanks for the memories! Yes, it’s all coming back to me now… and how could I have overlooked the “Soup Dragon”? My chances of getting a real-life clanger are remote but I now have a “Plan B”. I’m hoping someone will knit me one !
