Summer vegetables peak flowering season (backdated June 30, 2011)

Seems like everything is in flower, or getting ready to flower, getting ready to burst forth with life and more life. It all looks so healthy and lush right now. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Note: some of the plants I’ve been identifying this season as broccoli were actually kale and vice versa. It seems that broccoli was cut as kale before budding, already frozen and preserved before the mistake was caught. I hope it tastes ok. Blame it, again, on kids mixing up the plant tags.
