Technicolor Bloom Day

Tuesday, 15 Nov 11 Cloudy 9°C / 49°F

The leaves, not flowers, are the star of the garden show these days. I’m not the only one who is constantly getting my breath taken away. That it has hardly been raining, at least by Seattle winter standards, is the talk of the town. We do get great fall color but it is usually too rainy for us to notice. Not this year.

No killing frost yet, so still lots of straggling flowers.

The fatsia got the bloom day badge, because it just bloomed a few days ago, and because i noticed that hoverflies like it.

My italian exchange student commented on the fall “Its like everyday i wonder if the world got photoshopped.”

Jaw dropping Autumn display. The Berberis is so vivid it looks photoshopped, though I know you didn’t. Thank you for sharing with someone who might have enough cold to get decent Autumn colour once every 7-8 years, so not worth planting for it.

    Lilly Pilly-
No i dont use photoshop, but my tiny, fully automated canon elph camera has various settings, including a vivid colors setting. I dont consider it cheating since the colors come out true to life and the regular setting doesn’t capture color highlights accurately.
