High thin cloud and then rather odd cloud formations, some lenticular, some just like flat pieces of cotton wool, and some were big patches of curdy cloud, altogether they suggested the aftermath of a storm somewhere but I would have thought we were too far away to be affected by Irene. Unusually, even the breeze out of the west was hot.
Watered this evening, ran the drip hose for a couple of hours and hand watered the container plants and Path, which is tricky as the water quickly runs off onto the path. Collected several mozzie bites – it would be so nice to sit out in the garden without getting bitten.
I don’t seem to have entered the oriental lilies that I planted last November. These white ones, Casablanca, with huge flowers and delicious scent are at the east end of Road. None of the old Orientals have come up this year, so I assume they are dead.

Beautiful Begonia! ‘Casablanca’ is just stunning too. Love the pure white.
