We’ll be spending a little time with my parents today at their nearly finished new home which is in the same town where my grandparents live. After we tour and the dogs play a bit, I’m planning a brief stop at Gram’s to drop off some of my jam, potatoes and pickles from this year. I also harvested some beans, peppers and a couple tomatoes that are ready.

I did harvest a Black from Tula a little before its time but Mom assures me Gram will be able to finish ripening it. Between the ‘black’ tomato and the purple beans, I’m not sure what Gram will think but it will be a nice visit in any case.

Also harvested today, one of Doc Polgar’s mystery peppers (2.5 oz) – I have to find a way to get these into my plantings.

Everything looks nice and sunny! What did gram think of your bounty – especially the pickles?

It was a weird day laurieann – supposed to be stormy but nothing! I’m not sure what Gram thinks of the pickles yet. I’ll have to give her a call. She was overwhelmed by the veggies I think but curious most about the purple podded beans and the black from tula tomato. We spent some time talking about the gardens she had in the past and all the canning she used to do. It was a nice visit! :-)
