These guys make my garden happen, in spite of their best efforts. Then they eat it, often immediately.
Still, the flea beetles are determined to steal their happy harvest. Note the continued damage. Note that flea beetles love eggplant, and I will remember this as a trap crop in the future. Especially since I’m not really a fan of eggplant. I was grateful for the swaps, as I love to grow new things. I have no idea if I’ll get any food out of these plants this year, but if they continue to attract the evil beetles from my favored plants, I will trade for them forever.
Lily bloom explodes, this is my first day of summer.
And so the aphids celebrate by sucking the life from my new valerian. Damn those bugs! More soap, more soap I say!
