What a day we have had, eh, Angelchrome? At least I was able to do something in the greenhouse on the plot today. See my new blog “Save it for a rainy day!” Still it’s been great for the allotment! :-))

I hear u angelchrome. I dont like removing those slimies either but i have to do it too each and every time weather is wet, if i want to have anything grow and survive!
btw- the task is somewhat less gross if one uses gloves, tongs, or both.

Yeah I busted out the gloves for this one. We’ve had an unusually dry year thus far and this round of hot weather followed by rain has brought them out in force. You wanna hear something messed up? The ant problem in the front yard is so bad that they keep the slugs off everything there. Time to bust out the diatomaceous earth I think.

We have a pretty bad ant problem here too.
Look on the bright side- Good that ants been discouraging ur slugs and snails. some1 told me they do that by eating the young?
- But also,
At least diatomaceous earth is effective on your ants. :)
DE does absolutely nothing for the large, stinging, tropical ants in my garden and shed. They are too tough to even notice its presence.
