All I seem to be doing lately. But made some headway the past couple days. Been really nice out, 70’s to low 80’s. I’ve mulched all the potatoes and tomatoes, weeded out all but some of the pathways…so doesn’t seem like much but by the time you figure 15 tomatoes and four 17’ rows of potatoes…= A LOT of grass! I went to the city burn site and loaded up four trash bags of cut grass. Hopefully I can get the rest of the garden mulched before too long.
Pic 2 -So excited today to check the peas and lookie lookie the first pea :) Weeding the turnips I found a couple about 1" big, and around the tomatoes I had pretty much given up on the basil I planted there but found three different shoots.
Pic 5 – Everything is really doing well, with the exception of one tomato, a Rio Grande that the leaves have all turned brown and died on. Not sure at all what the cause is, I transplanted it the same as all the other tomatoes and the ones I transplanted the same day are also fine. Him and all my others I started are still under milk jugs which everybody else seems to love, they are doing great. Including my little Woodle who you can’t even tell was stunted by the heater ordeal. He is just as big as my late starts…very happy :)
Pic 3 & 4 – Not for sure what type of bugs these are. The first set had ants very interested in them, so thought they might be aphids. The little black bugs I think I saw a picture of before but I don’t know what they are.
Headed back out to clear out around my melon hills….I’m soooo getting my tan on ;)
