August was a bountiful month when it came to the garden. All of our hard work had finally seemed to have paid off. =)
My chamomile plant that I grew from seed has popped up from the middle of the herb garden and bloomed. It was truly beautiful, but it didn’t last long. The heat was too much for it and the poor thing disappeared.
The sweet white corn, on the other hand, was finally blooming and showing us that it would give us some corn on the cob soon! =D
The pic of Jas and my daughter in the garden had become my favorite garden picture. It was my desktop pic for a very long time and every now and then I still put it as the background on my cell phone. =P
We are very proud of the placement of plants in the herb garden as far as size and color. It was nice to look at. That basil pretty much took over and just kept growing no matter how much of it we took off. We love our caprese salads, so we were constantly harvesting basil for ourselves and even my work! At the time, I worked at a very nice restaurant called Cafe 225. I’m not sure how many of you know, but basil can get pretty expensive if you like to use it for culinary purposes; especially for a restaurant! It was always a happy day for the cooks when I’d walk in with a bunch of basil in a bucket. =)
