First Spring Harvest!

Woohoo! I didn’t harvest all of these yet, just some of the larger radishes and larger leaves of the Spinach.

10 Cherry Belle Radishes – very nice and spicy, the greens are more bitter than the Easter Egg variety of radishes, but I still liked them.
5 Easter Egg II Radishes – Greens are very flavorful! Haven’t tasted the radish yet.
A bowlful each of the Tyee and Space spinach. I like them both, but the Tyee has a stronger spinach flavor.

I’m hard boiling some eggs now to make a nice spinach salad for our dinner!

Also, earlier this spring I finally gave some loving attention to our Rosa Rugosa. Pruned back the dead or weak limbs, and cleared out some Honeysuckle growing in it. The Rose has rewarded me with more flowers than we’ve ever had! :) The picture doesn’t do it justice, there are so many flowers blooming now, and many more budding!

Congrats on the first harvest! I was looking at my Cherry Belle Radishes today, and they’re starting to plump up a bit. I think I’m about 10 days behind you… Now you’ve got me looking forward to it!
