Milestone 'glitch'

From my dashboard, I’m trying to enter: BRIARS garden/growing/comment: ‘one raspberry and two blackberry canes have sprouted in paths. use them to fill in the row’…….but, it won’t work.
However, if I enter the specific plant….it works.
The same lack of cooperation occurs if I try to enter that I’ve fertilized or watered any specific garden.

It’s a feature that would be very useful – something that allows for recording more general actions applied to groups of plants or a ‘garden’ – unfortunately I don’t think it exists. Especially fertilising/soil amendment as we are treating soil, not particular plants in many cases. Has been mentioned before somewhere as desirable.
I’d like to be able to record actions taken for all my tomatoes & not have to do so for each individual plant – means it invariably doesn’t get entered as too time consuming. -

Sorry about that, the gardens keep sneaking back into the search on the dashboard. The search should only currently return your plantings – so I’ll get that fixed today.
I’m working on a way to allow garden level milestones (and milestones from your plant pages)…I’m hoping to get some time to get this finished and released soon :)

Whilst watching the Olympics today from the couch, thought I might tidy up and release what I have built so far for this as I though at least then we have something that everyone can use and we can improve from here :)
You should now be able to add garden-wide milestones from the dashboard – it will add the same milestone for every planting in the garden (that is not archived). Another thing in this first version is the “batch options” on your plant pages – you should be able to select a number of plantings here and then create basic milestones for your selection. No garden specific milestones yet unfortunately – that one is still on the list as it requires a fair bit of database changes to accommodate.
I’m not going to announce this one quite yet as it is still quite basic, so if you could give these new features a test that would be wonderful! Let me know what you think and I’ll try and factor in any suggestions you have for this :)

Sorry to have to report that this did not work for me. I tried to do what I mentioned in my OP….add a milestone with a comment. At first, when I saw that the entry did not appear down below under ‘recent planting activity, I thought it might have appeared on the garden page itself but I don’t see it.
ETA: OOPS!…..I’ve misinterpreted what was happening. I see that all the plantings in the aforementioned ‘BRIARS’ garden…..received the milestone and the comment. I was hoping that the milestone, along with the comment, would appear only on the garden page rather than the plant(s) pages.
ETA: I realize what I requested might not be do-able but, I still appreciate your attention to this matter.

Just tried a Kitchen Raised Beds milestone from my dashboard and a list of plants has appeared which includes some I don’t even have!

rosemarieGardener – yep this is for quick bulk updating of plantings only, not garden milestones (reasons for this are explained above in the last comment)
seeingreen – can you drop me a link to your garden and the date and milestone type (e.g. Sprouting) you were bulk creating – I’ll check the database to see what was actually saved to see what went wrong for you.

I added ‘fertilised’ milestone for this garden

All the plants which should now have it – it has worked for, thanks nic. But at the time of entering, in the Recent Planting activity pane all these plants appeared ‘fertilised’ which I don’t have in the garden and showed up on the grapevine! -
