Is there a way to find members by zip code?

@ nightdigger-I do not believe that there is at this time. Interesting Idea though. If you go to the zone map, you can click on your zone, and it shows everyone in your zone. Then you can zoom in to your area, and find everyone that is in your area. MyFolia is growing all the time, lots of new members joining I noticed, and I am even getting more people joining in my state, which should be no surprise to me since we are a big farming state, but there weren’t many here when I joined. :)

Hi Nightdigger – as TropicanaRoses mentioned, we don’t have a way of finding members from zip or postal codes. As we are a truly international site, we are instead using your geo-coordinates (e.g. Latitude and Longitude) to position you relative to your neighbours. We still have lots of cool features stil to come that will let you find people gardening in your area, but for the meantime, take a look at the Your Gardening Neighbours page http://myfolia.com/gardeners/list?letter=all&sort=proximity this will show you all members closest to you (You’ll find this link by clicking on the People tab in the top menu)
The Zone Map is another good place to discover people in your local area and also check what climate zone they are in.
Hope that helps, and welcome to folia :)

Hi Everyone,
I just joined Folia today. I discovered this site while looking around for something that might help me figure out what I should be doing with my plants each month. ie’; fertilizing, pruning, etc. Do you think this this program will help me? So far, I’m still trying to find my way around and get familiar with the site. I’ve only been gardening for a couple of years but I’m totally addicted. These are the following plants that I have on my small landscape. My Plants

Maple Tree (2)
Rhododendrons (6)
Rose Bushes (2 climbers) 1 shrub rose
Boxwoods (2)

Tulips/Narcissus
Bleeding Heart (1)
Canna Lilies (2)

@dianesgarden Welcome to Folia! I think you’ll find the site very helpful in tracking your plants, and the community at large can answer many of the questions you might have about them, or at least send you in the right direction for an answer. There are many Canadian members.
Once you set up your garden(s), and log in these plants you’ll be connected to the plant wiki that will help you learn more about them. You’ll also be able to see who else is growing them, so you can compare notes.Under tasks, you can easily schedule repeating tasks to keep you on track and Folia will send you weekly personalized reminders. You are welcome to ‘visit’ my Folia pages to see how I’ve set up my gardens, stash, plantings, and written journals about them. It’s up to you how many of the features you want to use, and of course more of them are available to you once you become a supporting member. Personally, I’m not sure how I kept up with my gardens before Folia! -

@dianesgarden Welcome the folia family! As a new member just a week or two ago, I can assure you that there is help available for the asking and the more you use folia the more you will get out of it. It sure takes a bit of time and effort entering your gardens and plantings but it is well worth the effort. Good luck!

Welcome Dianesgarden and Tomartyr! So glad to have more “faces” in folia. I have not been very active for about a year, many things going on, some good, some not, but it is nice to know that my gardening friends are out there. :) As an example of how friendly the people here are, there is a Folia group on Facebook, and I caught up with one of the Folia members there, and we were talking, and she asked me how I was doing as she had noticed from my posts that things had not been going very well. This community doesn’t just help with gardening issues, but they truly care about one another.
I believe that you will not only enjoy the site, and making new friends, but that you will also discover that there is a lot to learn and do here. I too am a tomato lover, they are truly a satisfying plant to grow, and I use a lot of tomato products, so it is nice to grow them and then process them for winter, as well as eating them on our sandwiches and in salads.
Enjoy the site and do not be afraid to ask a question! :) No one has ever laughed at my questions, no matter how silly they seemed to me. :)

Hi, I’m new too so I apologize if there is a obvious answer that I am missing, LOL. Is there a way to change the qty from 1 to the actual qty I planted?

@bright_eyes: You should be able to highlight and delete and then type in the number you want, or position the cursor after the “1” and backspace and then type. If it doesn’t work, it is definitely a bug, and you can post in the “Bugs and Issues” group for nic to take a look and give it a fix. Oh, and welcome to Folia! No need to apologize. We have all had these types of questions and more! That’s why we have the Help! group.
