Let's all recognize birthdays?

Since folia is also such a social group, I think it would be absolutely lovely for folians to be able to wish each other happy birthday! Maybe we could put our birthdays in the ‘Settings’ section (only month and date of course, no year—that would be telling!) with birthdays being acknowledged in some way. Just one more way to get to know fellow folians! What does anyone else think?

Sounds like a great idea! Can you please give this a quick test for me: try setting the birthday day and month to todays date, then reload this page :)

I just reset my birthday to July 7th and a cake with candle appeared on my homepage and next to my icon.

Nic, would it be possible in some way to recognize supporter birthdays for the day in one spot, say in the area under “My Dashboard” or somewhere, like a “see who has birthdays today” list? I know as Folia expands, the list could be kinda long, but if it were a supporter feature only, it would be special (and might encourage supporter subscriptions?).

The cake for the day is great, but if I miss someone who doesn’t log in that day, then we never know! I’d like to be able to send a birthday wish anyway. It would be a great way to meet new people on Folia. I’m not sure if I explained what I’m asking for well enough, but maybe someone else could help clarify ……..?
