<body>It is quite on the group! Mind you between working and getting ready for the winter (I've just built a new green house and heading out for a new cold frame this afternoon), I guess we're all doing things!

How have people found the challenge of all the rain this &quot;summer&quot;?

I think the biggest challenge for us has been slugs, although the free coffee grounds and salt do seem to be doing some good!</body>

<body>Not too much slug damage either but then I do have quite a lot of birds that like to munch them, do have a lot of earwigs this year though, don't know if that is because I'm growing Dahlias that I notice it!</body>

<body>The slugs must all have migrated to my garden! Normally not a problem, as if it makes any difference with the high density of the snail population in my garden, but this year the very wet weather seems to have encouraged all kinds of slugs. There is not much for them to nibble at though; I have long since given up growing anything that is the least bit appetising to snails and presumably slugs.</body>

<body>Well my runner beans have been totally munched by the snails, I keep fighting them off the strawberry plants and they have even got into the hanging basket. I, too, try to plant flowers they don't go for. My pelargoniums (geraniums to me)and roses always survive but this year the busy-lizzies got badly attacked.</body>

<body>There does seem to me a lot of slugs around this year and they are all huge! Carrie and I have been using the salt on them. We've stopped using pellets as we've seen hedgehogs in the garden this year. The slugs seem to love dahlias and they've been decimated, everything else has just been munched.
Been busy keeping the winter flowering plants ready for the end of the year in the greenhouse and have moved them into the cold frame. We&#8217;ve planted out the Daff&#8217;s ready for next spring and just taken delivery of the tulips so I&#8217;ll hopefully plant them over the next couple of weekends!
