I joined folia because after years barely keeping a garden journal or writing things down and then losing the scraps of paper I needed a central way to ensure I wasn’t making the same mistakes twice by properly keeping and reviewing a journal. (Yes, I know I could have bought a simple three ring binder, but Hey, I am a computer guy.)

Another way I try to be a better gardener is listening to Podcasts on my Ipod. Generally they are just rebroadcast of over the air radio shows but some are a few people deciding to do a podcast about gardening because that is what they are passionate about.

I have tried a few gardening podcasts via the Itunes store and more were busts then hits. Sincere people but they just didn’t keep up the podcast, their information was too basic or for whatever reason I dropped them.

Then I switch over to one out of California called Garden Talk hosted by Steve Garner and Gwen Kilchherr, on 1350 KSRO. I enjoyed it for a while but it is really California specific.

I am currently listening to You Bet your Garden billed as An hour of “chemical-free horticultural hijinks”. The announcer is a little bombastic as most radio personalities are but his tips are incredible and I learn something new every week.
