<body>Hmmm. Interesting! I did not have a lot of zucchini this year, but I have a neighbor that loves spaghetti squash. she did not grow any, and is not home until evening, so I have left some of that on her porch bench before, and will probably do it again as my 20 or so spaghetti squash are all ripening at once. They must sense that the growing season is almost at a close. :)</body>

<body>LOL....I love this idea. Although I have to agree with tropicanaroses. This is the first year ever that I have grown zuchinni and not been overrun with the things. Strangely it also the first year I everplanted 4 plants as opposed to 1, just in case. Maybe the zuchinni gods were angered by my presumption.</body>

<body>@ Flora- I don't know about that. Our neighbor has 6 plants, and she had enough to share with us....I have heard that they are not as readily pollenated as some other cucurbitae. I am going out today to see if I can hand pollenate any.</body>

<body>I'd be thrilled if someone snuck some onto my porch. My plants never recovered from their bout with powdery mildew.</body>

<body>:( Sorry to hear that the mildew affected your output. All of my plants that have that disease are still putting out tremendously. I can't wait for the final harvest on them. The zucchini plant is fine, but zucchini flowers are the first to open, and the first to close in the mornings apparently, so the window of opportunity for bees to pollenate the plant is very short. It may be that you need to hand pollenate where you live. I would try that next year. Also, if you have the time to hand water them, that should help greatly in the reduction of powdery mildew incidents. Just don't let water get on the leaves, if you can help it, and don't water them late in the day. :)</body>
