First experience gardening. Not so interested in flowers as vegetables. I’m intrigued by the idea of local eating, so my main goal is to produce veggies that are yummy, fresh, and that I can use a lot in my kitchen, but still let me expand my tastes.

Same here! In my garden it’s all about the edibles, though I’m adding some flowers as I’m starting to discover ‘edible flowers’ and ‘companion plants’. There are a few flowers, like marigold and nasturtium, which can really benefit your edibles by keeping away bugs and improving growth & flavor of your veggies :)
