this is my little patch of sunny sunflowers. My first year at growing them in Alabama, i have three different varieties. The mammoth flowers are doing well, as well as mixed varieties with purples and rust colors, and then my little lemon sunflowers sweetly along the back side are still producing. I germinated them indoors around the 4th of April, I think.

Hi. My name is Christine. I’m in Chicagoland, just joined myfolia earlier this summer and I’m lovin’ it.
I am growing a circle of sunflowers to create a fort for my kids this year.
Welcome to myfolia!

Your sunflowers look great! Mine have just started to flower! I think I may bring one in for the baby shower that I am doing tomorrow! Welcome to folia! This is a great site for us garden geeks! Enjoy it! It looks like your garden experiments are doing great!
My hubby was hired by a company that is out of Florence back in 2001. He said that is was a pretty nice place, but that it was hot there. His office was in Jackson, TN.

Lucky southerners. My sunflowers are barely knee high. I did start them late, but still. I am impatient.

Most of mine are knee high also, but I started 8 early, and I have one that is above my head, and 2 that are blooming. Many more have buds, but they haven’t opened yet. :)
