I love roses. My parents had lots of roses in their garden-mostly hybrid teas and I didn’t much like them BUT as an adult I fell in love with old fashioned roses and started collecting.
My current home has my third rose garden. There were a few roses already here when i bought the property. Some I liked and some I didn’t.
I brought some with me from my previous gardens, and I’ve added more.
I’ve got one rule for my roses-they have to have a scent.
And it helps if they are tough.I don’t go in for spraying regimes.
Apart from that I choose my roses by colour, appearance, variety and sometimes the name, if I choose it in remembrance. And some for nostalgia and history.
At the time of writing I have about 30 different roses in my garden.
I plan to add them to myfolia a few at a time.
