I almost feel bad calling this a garden, since it’s largely just a collection of pots in the back yard, stuck into an old wire grocery-store basket that once held some kind of soda, I’m sure. I put that basket (roughly 3′ × 1.5′) onto two plant stands to keep it off the ground, and filled it with pots of herbs.
This section is the part of the garden that is largely for aromatic herbs and such. I want to try making my own perfumed/essential oils for the perfumes I make (happyhousewifesoap.com), so a little practice was necessary this year for experimentation.
(Mind you, I can’t keep much alive around here, it seems, with the proliferation of grasshoppers and other things that chew on my plants, but it was worth a try.)
I’d love to see this expand, even if it’s not here in Iowa, into an actual perfumer’s garden at some point, if I can find the things that I can grow and which oil-up well.
Whee!
An outdoor organic garden located in Omaha, Ne, United States, missviolet's Perfumer's Herb Garden garden currently contains 0 plants.
This is a Backyard garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 5a. It has mainly Potting Mix soil and receives Partial Sun light.Plantings

Hey. Whatever you’ve got to get a garden going is in fact a garden in its own right. So don’t fret over it. At least you are overcoming, and not giving up, as you said in you’re overview. :) (I liked the pun). I happened upon you when I was adding Croyarnster (?) as a garden buddy. So out of curiosity I came to visit. It turns out that we are just a few hours drive from one another. How did I miss your joining? I’ll have to look and see when you joined!!
In the meantime, happy gardening!! I look forward to watching your garden grow next year!! :)
