As I explained in the Guerrilla Gardening list:
Guerrilla Gardening in only the mildest sense.
Just over the fence on the western end of my front garden, adjacent to a neighboring two-car garage, is a small raised garden, maybe eight square meters in a concrete box. It used to lie empty of everything but sticks and garbage, so last year I went in with a rake and shovel, cleaned it, turned it over, pulled out the glass and stones, stuck a few seeds in the ground… and then a woman appeared with plants. I don’t know where she lives, but she rents half of the garage and the garden I had just cleaned was hers, apparently, or hers more than mine.
I think I’ll have to clean it up again this spring – it’s full of trash because it’s on the street and so are the scruffs and the drunks – but maybe she’ll take care of the planting and watering once the messy stuff is done.
