A stand of overly large, too closely planted conifers at the back of the back yard. Whoever planted them had no clue. When I moved in there was just a solid wall of needles, from about 30 ft. high all the way to the ground. We’ve removed a couple of the straggly lodgepoles pruned up the lower branches on most of the rest, and the knobcone lost several large branches over the years and has had to have arborists out twice. There’s now a lot more air circulation and light, and they seem mostly healthier than they have been.
