nutmeg's Neglected kitchen garden

This part of the garden is currently in a state of neglect. Up until about 3 or 4 years ago it was fairly well-tended and was divided into areas of no-dig beds, a large fruit cage and a greenhouse. Unfortunately, pressures of work, family and a shoulder injury meant that I couldn’t keep on top of it – and the weeds took over.

The fruit cage collapsed under the weight of snow and the planks that surrounded the raised vegetable beds disintegrated. A panel of glass blew out of the greenhouse… all in all it’s a garden in need of major renovation.
