We have quite a few windowsills in our house and they play host to a rotating selection of plants which I bring up from the greenhouse for flowering. I also use a couple of small tables to hold plants while flowering and there are one or two other spots where I can put plants on a temporary basis.
We have three windowsills in our Art Gallery but one has a sofa in front obscuring it. So I use the other two windowsills in there – one facing south and the other facing west. I have to be very careful with plants on these windowsills because the sun can be intense in the summer and cause scorching problems.
I’m not allowed to keep ANY plants on the two kitchen windowsills – hubby is a trained chef and is very strict about keeping the kitchen a clutter-free work environment – so they are out of bounds …
