Scarecrow

Scarecrow's Main Vegetable garden

Garden Type: Edible | Sun: Full Sun | Soil: Clay I'm Organic!

This is our main food growing area. With vegetables, fruit trees, herbs and companion plantings, the fruit tree area has chickens kept in it for pest/weed control.

Situated on our spare block on the North side (the sunnier side in southern Hemisphere) of the house. It’s lower than the house block – makes it a frost trap in winter…bad for tender vegetables but good for chill factor of fruit trees.

The photo of the layout of the garden is about to change quite dramatically. The new design will be about half the current size. The reduction in size will enable easier hand watering and hopefully more efficient use of space; edges and verticals (fences, trellises).

Now re-designed read updates in the journal.
