emeraldhouse's Catherine's Roof garden

Garden Type: Rooftop | Sun: Full Sun | Soil: Potting Mix I'm Organic!

Five floors up, it’s an L-shaped roof terrace facing due south towards central London. Since arriving six years ago (when there was only one sad pot), I’ve packed it with plants, installed a trellis windbreak, saved up for decent wooden troughs when I can afford them, and got through two watering systems.
I have a small heated propagating tray indoors and a tiny hexagonal plastic growing house tucked away behind the swing bench. The plus points of being so high are no squirrels, loads of sun and terrific views. The down side is that slugs and snails still find me, it’s very windy and everything has to be brought upstairs and the lift only goes to the third floor. Thankfully I have an understanding husband.
Visit my website (www.emerald-house.co.uk) which has a general planting list and my blog (http://londonroofgarden.blogspot.com) for the latest trials and tribulations.

Absolutely stunning! It must’ve taken a lot of hard work but it looks well worth it. I’m looking forward to more pictures with the changing seasons
