This rather tricky side border is under a large beech tree and a hedge of holly and bay, so it’s in partial shade for much of the day. Plus there’s a lot of roots and a bramble and ivy problem. has just been planted up with shrubs and perennials and mulched with bark and I’m hoping this will keep it under control.

It was planted with a view to adding colour and form and supporting wildlife, particularly birds.
