When we bought the house the entire front bed was a mass of boring boxwood, which Steve chopped out in March 2009. It took us months to finally get the stumps pried up and dried up but I planted the whole time and now we have a reasonable shade garden in the front strip – just waiting for some of these plants to fill out as I have mostly perennial shade plants.
