My Scented Geranium 4/12/09
It all started when I planted my rose geranium six years ago… I would ignore her every summer then, come fall, (I live in zone 6a) I would pot her up and bring her inside. In my hastiness last spring, I placed her outside in early April only to watch her succumb to a frost. Little did I know the great power of the scented geranium! Before I had a chance to grieve there she was, pushing out leaves from her lower nodes, resilient and forgiving towards my impatient nature.
So I fell in love with the scented geranium. Last fall I propagated for the first time (my collection had grown to a lemon geranium and a Grey Lady Plymouth) and was astonished by the readiness the geraniums showed. So now I have a modest supply of baby geraniums, and my Rose Geranium “mother” plant is still growing proudly, happy to face her seventh year under my, albeit imperfect, care.
An outdoor organic garden located in Newburg, PA, United States, Miss_M's Geranium Phantasies garden currently contains 6 plants.
This is a Windowsill garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 6a. It has mainly Potting Mix soil and receives Full Sun light.Photos
