I created this strip along the garden wall, by popping out a few paving stones, and adding some potting soil to the sand mix that was in there. During my first year in this garden I planted broad beans, peas and tomatoes, and they did surprisingly well, seeing how they don’t have a lot of soil to play with! It’s an ideal spot for taller plants, they get plenty of sun, and I can easily lead them up the garden wall & fence.
