Scarecrow's Kitchen garden

Just outside the back gate it’s the ideal spot for a Kitchen Garden. A few plants of foods we can pick frequently without having to venture over to the Main Vegetable Garden.

Planted with Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Zucchini, Lettuce, Onions, Jerusalem Artichokes, Parsley, Silverbeet and companion flowers of Nasturtiums, Cosmos and Marigolds. Edged with a short Rosemary hedge.

With natural shade from a Lemon tree, a Plum tree and an ever growing Lemon Verbena this garden has turned into a jungle over summer.

Soon, when the worst of our heat is over, I’ll begin to cut the growth back to start planting some food for winter.
