Spring 2009 Vegetable Garden
This is our second year to use our Vegetable Garden. I have expanded it some this your and made two smaller place to plant asparagus and strawberry( listed as a separate garden). The garden this year measures 20×25ft. . I did plant a cover crop this winter and tilled it in, in December. I have also added Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss (18 cu. ft.) and Manure (480 lbs.) I hope that will help my potatoes this year. Last year they did not get very big and not many made. I also framed the vegetable garden with pressure treated wood so it will look a little nicer in the yard and will be much easier to weeded around.
Here is what I will be planting this year : Spring 2009
- Lettuce (9 varieties)
- Onions
- Broccoli
- Potatoes
- Bell Peppers (5 different kinds)
- Jalapenos
- Eggplant
- Tomatoes (of course) (16+ different kinds)
- Watermelon
- Yellow Squash (3 varieties)
- Spinach
- Sugar Snap Peas
- Cucumbers
- Pumpkin (4 varieties)
