puu's baby earth garden

Garden Type: Edible | Sun: Full Sun | Soil: Loam I'm Organic!

in January of 2008, my mom and sister expanded the chicken coop out into the pasture behind the barn. January 2009, my sister and I tore down the outdoor portion and rebuilt it around the corner. so now there’s a little patch, probably 8′ × 12′ or so, that the chickens have been tearing up and shitting on for a year. it’s mulched with a nice thick layer of straw until the weather warms up a bit and we can plant some edibles in the nice rich and shitty dirt underneath.

baby earth is the first chick (now a handsome bantam rooster) hatched on our farm in quite a few years and the garden is named after him.
