I received this “Hydro Greenhouse 2” kit from my cousin Denise for Christmas.
It’s made by “Uncle Milton” and is described as a “Table-top Hydroponic Mini Greenhouse”. It comes with a sturdy green plastic planting bed, a thin transparent plastic wrap-around + top with holes for ventilation, a 600mL reservoir bottle that automatically dispenses nutrient solution, a nutrient transfer strip, a bag of growing medium (white light-weight balls), a bag of fertilizer (enough for 1 year), a spoon for measuring out the fertilizer, a miniature plastic rake for smoothing out the growing medium, and a miniature plastic shovel for planting seeds.
I initially planted basil, pak choi and tatsoi seeds, and set the kit in my living room by a window. The seeds germinated, but the seedlings did not thrive; I don’t think that they got enough light.
So I reassembled the light stand that I built for seed-starting last spring, pulled out the sad little seedlings, and planted a new set of seeds – embedded in the paper of a wedding thank-you note from a friend. When I asked, he said that he didn’t know what sorts of seeds they are – hopefully we’ll find out soon! :)

Very neat! Kind of looks like one of those self-watering dog bowls doesn’t it?
