This garden was built to house gooseberries, rhubarb, perennial herbs, and things that overflow from the annual bed. That may change in the future; next year we’ll have a better feel for how we use the space.

Did you have trouble finding Rhubarb? It was an awful price at the local farmer’s market so I thought I would better grow my own. But it took me weeks of searching the local garden centres and cheap it wasn’t. But it has settled in to it’s new home with the greatest of ease. Good luck with yours.
the raised beds look great.

Thanks. I actually had a weird time with the rhubarb. I ordered it online. It came a 4-6 weeks late and one of them was covered with mold. I planted it and nothing happened for weeks so they refunded the money. In fact, the mouldy rhubarb is just getting it’s first leaf now, and we’re on day 45. So… my rhubarb was free but extremely stressful.

Addendum: the mouldy rhubarb died, the other one is dying. I’ll probably have to start from scratch next year.
