Dominick needed a place to get out his aggression, so we let him whack away at anything he found growing along the fence — mostly scrubby-looking sticks, sticker bushes and weeds. He spent part of the summer calling it his “digging area” where he got up to his neck in dirt, and cleared out quite a good spot doing that.

This winter it has been my compost pile. I’m thinking of blueberries or something that could tolerate a bit of shade in that spot.
