I’m not a lawn person. Can’t get motivated to reseed or pull weeds, and why waste precious water that could be better put to use for flowers that reward me with beautiful flowers to make me smile or vegetables that give me food for the table?
A big section of lawn died one summer during a drought. It didn’t come back, for which I was grateful. I covered it with newspaper, cow manure and leaves then planted it the following spring. Each year I expand it out a little further. Before the neighbors realize what has happened, the lawn will be just a little strip to separate the sections and rest the eyes between the gardens.
