Garden Type: Herb | Sun: Full Sun | Soil: Combination I'm Organic!

I started this Herb garden in the spring of 2008. It is an area within the fenced in perimeter of my under-deck garden workshop. The garden itself is to the side of the deck so it does get many hours of sunlight every day. I started with basic herbs that we use in cooking all the time, but I am slowly adding some medicinal herbs as well as I am studying how to use them.

In the late fall, I cut the herbs and bring them into the house to dry. In 2007 I tried potting them to overwinter in the house, but that did not work at all. Drying works better and we have them for cooking all winter.

For the winter, when the annual herbs are not in the garden, I am using sections of it as a holding bed for some perennial seedlings that I started earlier in the summer.
