glittertrash's Previous house side veggie patch garden

Garden Type: Vegetable | Sun: Partial Sun | Soil: None

I no longer grow here but am keeping it up for the record of my first year of veggie-growing
-

This is where I’ve gotten a bit creative & lifted some of the dodgy paving to create raised garden beds (don’t tell the landlord…). This area down the side of the house is pretty neglected, in part due to the shockingly bad break-your-ankle paving and in part because who uses the side of the house? It does however get heaps more sun than the backyard, which to my greedy gardener’s eyes looks like OPPORTUNITY FOR VEGETABLES!

I’ve just finished the structure of two raised garden beds down here, and plan to fill them very soon using the ‘no-dig method’. I’ve got seedlings of zucchinis, summer squashes, eggplants & tomatoes germinating to fill them, and since they’re constructed of cinder-blocks with nice square holes, I plan to fill the cinder-blocks with potting mix and grow carrots, radishes & other small crops in them.
