I no longer live here but I don’t want to delete the garden & lose my old plants & journals, so I’m keeping it on MyFolia for now.
This yard is about 90% (badly) paved, with a small garden bed along one side. It has two truly enormous frangipani trees reaching over it, which seems to mean partial sun in winter when they’re bare & dappled shade in summer once they leaf out. At first I was panicked about the lack of full sun in this garden but I’ve come to appreciate the value of shade in the Australian climate- plus I’m looking forward to months of gorgeous frangipani flowers!
It’s a bit overwhelming looking at this garden and realising how much I’ve done in the less than six months I’ve lived here. It’s really been my practising ground for gardening, big enough that each time I have a new idea there’s somewhere for me to put it (although I’m having to get creative with hanging baskets & shelving now). While the front is a bit straggly & weedy, and the porch is a little small, stepping out and looking at this garden gives me such a lift of satisfaction that ‘I made that’.
