05 Dec 2008Hanging basket winter revamp Frontyard gardenGave the hanging baskets a revamp for winter as the frosts have killed off the lobelia. Took cuttings of the now very woody fuschias and removed the parent plants, replaced with small conifers and some spare aconites for spring colour.Sunny 6°C / 43°F

Gorgeous sunshine (but very cold) this morning and so I grabbed my woolie hat and thickest gardening gloves and set to, trying to tidy up the front garden. Cutting the passionflower vine right back revealed the winter jasmine just about to burst into flower.

12 Oct 2008Beech tree short back and sides... Frontyard gardenHave spent the gloriously sunny weekend with us all giving the beech trees a good tidy up. Boys very keen as they have just watched ‘Axe Men’ series. Lots more light. The grass might grow again from where the camp was in the summer. Used some of the smaller twigs to make insect house...Overcast 15°C / 59°F
