kightp's Backyard border garden

Garden Type: Backyard | Sun: Partial Sun | Soil: Combination I'm Organic!

Two long fence borders – one with most-of-the-day sun and one in deep shade – hold a haphazard array of plants that please me: An akebia vine, borage to attract the bees, a thicket of raspberry canes, assorted perennials and herbs and whatever annuals strike my fancy each year. The sunny side usually gets sunflowers; the shady border holds red-hot poker and a rather invasive Italian arum. We won’t talk about the English ivy, or the bamboo that creeps in under the fence from my east neighborh’s yard.
