This garden has been inspired by Jackie French and some random magazine articles (and I think a bit of Jamie Oliver thrown in somewhere) on growing edibles in hanging baskets.
Unable to knock in nails to hold my baskets (that pesky being a renter problem again) I have spent many months scouring for, and thankfully finding, a create stand that holds 8 large hanging baskets and at the moment has the prize position in the middle of the front yard which gets the morning sun.
The “baskets” are really plastic but chosen because they are “water-wise”. This doesn’t make them less ugly…but we are covering them in hessian to make them look a little more earthy…
