First handful: Sugar Snap Peas 1 1 Super Sugar Snap Harvesting and Back Fence Garden garden
It was a perfectly dreary weekend here, 3 major low systems collided. A nor’easter out on the Jersey coast, the non-named sub-tropical system that no one wanted to admit could have been named, and rain bands from the storm previously known as Kyle all converged over my house this weekend. ...

Identifying The Mix: Mesclun 1 3 Mesclun Harvesting and Back Fence Garden garden
So I sat down today and did some research to identify what exactly is in my Mesclun mix, since it can vary so much from seed packet to seed packet. First watermelon 1 1 Watermelons Harvesting and Back Fence Garden garden

We've got yellow! 1 Mammoth Sunflower Flowering and Back Fence Garden garden
The mammoth sunflowers are flowering and oh so lovely. It amazes me how long they take to open and stretch out. They are a bee’s delight with all of the pollen. The spiders seems to have figured out they are a good place to find lunch.

So beautiful 2 1 Mesclun and Back Fence Garden garden
The mesclun mix, despite the work of the caterpillars, is really filling in and giving me daily goodness for the table. It’s actually a pretty short row, but they really have produced. I just love the look of all the different leaves and the bite that they add to the salads these days.

The pea plants have grown to 2 feet tall and are branching quite a lot. I should start seeing some blooms soon. (crosses fingers)
