Hi Bluepenguin – welcome to Myfolia! As you can see, any penguin is a friend of mine :) http://myfolia.com/journals/952
That link leads you to kind of an old journal, but it shows our garden friend at its best.
Enjoy your folia garden!

Hi Blue Penguin! Awesome a Balcony Garden.. I am growing (finishing) a “Cement Garden” on my back patio that is not much bigger than a balcony… I successfully grew Tomatoes and Peppers and even Green Beans, although a few green beans a week won’t feed the family they sure make a great snack! As for the herbs a quick suggestion is to buy seed and keep planting new seeds every month or so… especially if you use them for cooking as much as I do… I grow about 3 plants at a time of each herb I use regularly and they still can’t keep up! But the good news is a new plant from the nursery is still about the same price as a packed bunch from the grocer! And fresher… I am pretty new to all this too so I love My folia… It’s a great way to see my own plantings grow!
