The soil in Clarendon is so poor. We live on top of limestone rocks on a steep slope so its pretty hard to grow anything. We grow veggies in raised garden beds and have resorted to growing favourite plants in pots (in particular self watering pots).
I have lost of roses trying to grown them in the ground but continue to enrich the soil as much as possible so I can enjoy the cut flowers in the house.
I have also started giving friends and family potted herb and veggie gardens as gifts. They love it. I ask them what type of herbs or veggies they want and then pot them up in time to give it to them for a birthday or christmas gift.

Now I feel as if I am giving a gift that keeps on giving.
